Don't write this movie off! (by paint_it_purple) |
What is wrong with people?!?! This movie was HILARIOUS! A certain branch of humour admittedly, but hilarious nonetheless! Lighten up and laugh at yourselves! You either love this movie or hate it, judging by the votes and comments, but I loved it, and many others will too - so give it a chance and watch, don't just read the bad reviews. I probably wouldn't have bothered to watch either if I'd read the reviews on here first, but I'm so glad I did! The movie content blurs the boundaries between the surreal and reality and takes the P out of society and ourselves. 'You <more> |
what? (by pogue717) |
OK, I must be just the type of 40+ year old infant male that this movie was made for. I laughed my @$$ off. I'm convinced most of the reviewers here wouldn't know a good joke if it bit them, but to each his/her own when it comes to comedy. I don't really think its a 10, but I'm giving it that just to stick it to you humorless snobs. Perhaps you won't find this movie suitable to your "evolved" pallets, but for those of us that still laugh at farts, and make dick jokes and think seeing someone getting punched in the balls is funny, then you should be amused by this <more> |
Filthy, trashy, vulgar, stupid... I loved it... and was crying myself to tears till it hurt!... (by sinnerofcinema) |
all throughout the movie.... as most don't see the puns because they are too worried being shocked and awed by its grotesquely politically incorrect visuals and low brow gags. The jokes, as intended, has its dark filthy, vulgar humor that would facilitate weak stomachs to throw up with anxiety quiet quickly if you did not already choose to dismiss the film. I loved it plain and simple. And no, I don't know the filmmakers nor was I paid to say this.. I may as just well have a filthy mind just like them... kudos to the filmmaker for taking cinema where most won't. a real breath of <more> |
Very smart modern comedy that may not look that way to unprepared audience (by kuvald-346-528779) |
Movie 43 is really not your typical comedy. It starts very aggressively immediately giving a shock to audience with some of the most insane scenes involving top Hollywood actors ever shown in cinemas Hugh Jackman scene is the one I am talking about . All jokes here are Very aggressive and some sweet girls or boys would definitely find themselves unprepared and may even leave the cinema. Movie 43 contains short unconnected stories what we could derive from trailer , which use different typical social settings. Each story is filled with jokes that may appear to be "out of <more> |
Where "Idiocracy" failed "Movie 43" succeeds (by carloenrico-salvadori) |
I think most reviews, both positive or negative, do not quite get what's at stake here. They both focus on the gross and screwball comedy, which, of course, is one of the main features of this movie and do not quite appreciate the "second level", the bitter satire on what western society is becoming. Thus, I am going to examine every single episode one by one: 1 A modern version of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale "The emperor's new clothes": Nobody seems to notice the monstrosity of Hugh Jackman's character because he's rich and handsome. 2 A <more> |
Just Saw it and..... (by insanegamer731) |
If you enjoy shows like Tim and Eric and Human Giant and other ridiculous sketch comedies chances are you'll like this. Leave your brain at the door cause this is stupid as hell and honestly has some serious WTF moments. It's the celebrities that carry this movies. If this had no names it would have been absolutely terrible. Critics will hate this no doubt but if your looking for an hour and half of laughs then this may be for you. It is disgusting in the best ways making you think did they really just get away that! The plot in this movie is not what they advertised it as being a few <more> |
It's good. Sorry guys, it's good. (by curry-b-taylor) |
You all are full of it.Look, Movie 43 is not a masterpiece of American cinema. But it doesn't even try to be that. Quit fooling yourselves into thinking you're better than the film. It is nothing more than what it is: tasteless, raunchy, gut-wrenching laughable humor. Yes, in fact I did say gut-wrenching laughter. I laughed my ass off through most of the movie. Why? Because it was funny.Yes, it was funny. Don't you all remember the days of Monty Python and Airplane! and There's Something About Mary and Scary Movie? Whatever happened to the light-hearted movies of decades ago, <more> |
I don't really take life too seriously, so.... (by sdonancricchia) |
I don't know, maybe I just have a strange sense of humor, but I thought this movie was funny. I always find it funny when serious actors do slapstick roles. I watched it several times and I still find it funny. I say if you like movies like Airplane or Blazing Saddles, just a hell of a lot nastier and rude, then this is the movie for you. |
A Nutshell Review: Movie 43 (by DICK STEEL) |
If you're up for some short stories in the comedy genre, then this film is for you, if you don't mind jokes that are offensive and appealing to the lowest common denominator, with a star studded lineup to sweeten the deal. Touted as a film with the most stars, it's quite like the many ensemble effort that Hollywood has been churning out of late like Valentine's Day and New Year's Eve, although this consists of no less than 13 separate shorts that for sure had tickled my funny bone.It would be insane to review each and every short film contained within, which were held <more> |
