Watched this at a packed evening viewing with lots of office workers, everyone laughed and had a good time especially at all the office banter. I really enjoyed TJ Miller's character, and overall I thought this movie was exciting which I'd been missing in movies lately Probably not for little kids so a warning there. In many ways I'm glad films are allowed to be ruder now, this movie would never have been allowed at the cinema during the 80's. If you like fun comedies and gross humour, and if you work in an office, you will probably like this I give it a ten because the movie <more>
Lived up to being the best movie to end out the year... it's a comedy, so what's with all the in depth review of the story line and concepts? Lots of funny jokes and humor, lots of raunch, lots of sex, lots of drugs, definitely leave the kids at home for this one! Jason Bateman, TJ Miller, Jennifer Anniston and even Rob Coddry all were great in this film. I ended up laughing my ass off for a good 70 percent of this movie, and I would even watch this movie in the summer just due to the fact it made me laugh so much. If you want a deep story that gets you thinking, go see a drama. If <more>

Here's how I rate film comedies, since I rarely find comedies that truly make me laugh out loud these days. If a comedy makes me laugh--including out loud--for most of its run time I give it a 10 out of 10, because it's become such a rarity and I hope for a new surge of comedies that do make me laugh flooding theaters everywhere. Watching a comedy I find hilarious in a large theater with a crowd of people laughing along with me is one of my favorite experiences in life, and, believe me, it doesn't happen nearly enough in modern day. I run to buy tickets for any comedy I think has <more>
a remote chance of bringing upbeat joy because they are so rarely produced and even more rarely manage to make it to actual movie theater release nowadays. On that note, "Office Christmas Party" gets that 10 out of 10 for me, as I was either smiling or laughing throughout its entire length. Because of R-rated comedies like this one that feature or star Jennifer Aniston I've become a huge fan of hers: Aniston thumbs her nose at critics who consistently stick their noses in the air when reviewing these comedies, pooh-poohing them and treating them as disposable or maybe, if they're feeling generous, "guilty pleasures." In fact, I think I've finally realized making a comedy that actually appeals to a large audience is one of the most difficult undertakings for any producer or director, let alone actors. So when one succeeds for me, it's a cause for celebration, and "Party" joins that short list as a comedy that hit most of the right notes for me to actually have a blast in a theater for a couple of hours. Aniston and company and it's a huge cast of comedic actors, some with tiny but truly standout, hilarious roles clearly had a ball making the film, and the fun they had is infectious for the audience open to it as well. Most memorable along with Aniston for me were Courtney B. Vance, hot off his incredible performance in "The People vs. O.J. Simpson" clearly relishing the chance to go off the rails and be as wild and crazy as he wants to be in the role here , Kate McKinnon playing an uptight H.R. wonk, and Vanessa Bayer, having truly bad luck in finding the right guy. Frankly, though, even the smallest roles a just-hired Uber driver talking passenger Aniston to death comes to mind as a highlight and the alleged 350 extras that number according to Entertainment Weekly add to the overall giddy, pleasurable insanity of the film, and I recommend the film for anyone who has a taste for R-rated comedies like "There's Something About Mary," "We're The Millers," or the hard PG-13 raunch of films like "Kingpin." Quite possibly the funniest film of the year... (by mason-shaw)
It's that time of the year ladies and germs, where the Holiday movies come crashing in. However, this time we seem to be onto a winner 2016 is winding down and we have had our fair share of ups and downs. So why not lift the spirit and jump into some festive viewing. This time with the help from Josh Gordon and Will Speck's 'Office Christmas Party'.Alright, I know The title may seem rather off putting, but don't take this lightly, this film right here is a top running contender to take out quite possibly 'The Funniest movie of the year'. That's right you <more>
heard it. It is that damn good!Centered around a tech company, this film could not get anymore 2016 if it tried. And man, will it make you depressed about your own lame upcoming Christmas party better start sneaking that booze in . Featuring a stellar cast of Jason Bateman, Jennifer Aniston, T.J Miller, Olivia Munn and Kate McKinnon just to name a few this film is sure fire, or 'Lit' as 2016 has led us to believe.McKinnon continues her onslaught of slaying in everything that she does and doesn't look like she is about to slow down anytime soon. Her Comedy is fantastic and for any SNL lover out there, I can guarantee that it will leave you in stitches. T.J Miller best known for his role in Silicon Valley brings the heat as he works his magical improv into various scenes throughout, many which almost had me spitting out my Pepsi Max as I attempted to take a sip Hey Pepsi, need a plug, brah? .Without spoiling the films plot, it is pretty simple to guess. Yes it is centered around an Office Christmas party go figure but it is a delightful and hilarious film that should be added to any Christmas movie list you may have currently running.Get off the couch, get out of the office, put down the eggnog and stop talking to your creepy cousin. Go see this film right now and join in on the quotes. This has to be the funniest film of the year.
Christmas Office Party - Watching almost as good as going! (by praghubir)
I think for people who have worked in offices and seen these people then this movie really makes you laugh. I found the writing and music great and the movie had a lot of good messages in there. I think they all made a film that was a lot of fun to watch and they did it well which a lot of writers/producers/directors don't do these days. Thanks to all the actors for having a good time in a cool way and sharing! I think the imaginative scope of some of the celebratory stunts and the dance scene as snowmen with Jason Bateman and Olivia Munn were great. T.J. Miller, Jennifer Aniston and Kate <more>
McKinnon were great fun. Too much description for a movie like this spoils it in my opinion. Pretentious reviews means you went to the wrong film. Go if you want to feel good for about an hour or so!
I'm always wary of comedy movies now these days as most of the recent ones I've seen this year weren't the best or made me laugh out loud maybe a giggle or two but that's basically it like Mike and Dave, eh . However, once I saw the trailer for this film and the cast in it, I thought: "Maybe this one will be better." And I was better much right.Right off the bet the movie had me bursting out many laughs in the first hour. Very witty jokes, nothing cringey at all actually. And the characters? They're not forgettable, like most others are in comedy movies. I <more>
remember their every joke and action and I found them hilarious. And yeah, the plot is pretty much simple and seemingly short but everyone's shenanigans are worth seeing.
This film is R RATED and it milks that rating to great effect. This is not a politically correct and that is a huge blessing. This huge comedy ensemble is cast with the best in the business. the only 2 people that they missed was Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy However they did cast her husband . In this film an office is going to be closed because it not performing as well as the new CEO likes. So this office throws a major Christmas Blow Out Party in order to secure a big client and save the 200 jobsThe film has several laugh out loud moments that make this film very memorable. If you <more>
hate gross out frat boy humor stay away from this movie. If you don't mind then you will love this film. This film is very funny. Over the upcoming years I expect to be catch on like "Office Space". GO SEE IT
A wild and far out feel good and sexy Christmas party movie! (by blanbrn)
They make or have made so many "Christmas" movies over the years and with this entry called "Office Christmas Party" it clearly does not take things serious at all! It's one funny feel good dirty time a viewing pleasure to enjoy! The film has plenty of wit and funny jokes and one liners and comedy chemistry between the cast all while they party with alcohol and drugs! And to spice things up nice under the mistletoe plenty of scenes of ladies wearing sexy colored bras! The story is pretty simple just before the holiday season a witch and cruel like CEO named Carol <more>
Jennifer Aniston decides to destroy and cut jobs of the company that her younger care free and goof brother Clay Vanstone T.J. Miller works at! Only to help save the day are fellow workers business guy Josh Parker Jason Bateman and computer tech gal Tracey Hughes Olivia Munn as they plan a deal to save jobs with another company guy named Walter Courtney B. Vance . And all of this will unfold with an epic "Christmas" party to save jobs! Aside from a little bit of a serious plot and theme of saving jobs, the film is a laugh feast of good times and vices as sure subplots! From the binge drinking of hard spirits and cocaine snorting to exposed body and private parts to seeing sexy women wearing red, pink, and cougar leopard print bras this party and film makes for one merry and naughty "Christmas"! Overall well done comedy that does have a serious theme of keeping jobs yet it's carried by the vices of good times and spiced up nice with sex appeal.
They really don't know what they're talking about. Hilarious Hard-R screwball comedy, smart, wonderfully acted, tight script, with funny improv from a lot of talented actors with solid comedy cred. It's a party blowout movie. Bachelor Party. Can't Hardly Wait. Superbad. Old School. It's like that. A great way to spend a couple of hours.
